phinsup talked about putting a fuel pump switch to turn off the pump when the engine is flooded...can anyone tell me how they manage to do it? i'd like a picture of the setup and instructions on how to do it....if its possible....and it'd be a good idea to put that in the how-to section after...

Just get an inline switch and wire it up to the positive lead on the fuel pump.

yes but cant you get the fuel pump wires somewhere near the dash board? i intend to put the switch on my dash board to have easy access, you know the ones with the red security lever like in airplanes (just to fancy out things a bit).

I'd just to cut the positive wire and run to wires to my switch on my dashboard..wouldnt it be easier that way?

What about the fuse box? isnt there a fuse for the fuel pump?

Just pull the RELAY under the hood. If you motor is flooding that often to install I switch I would get that fixed.

There's a website that has a device that is suppose to solve all flooding problems with the Mazda ECU.

I don't know where the wire is under the dash. I would just go directly to the fuel pump.

You can check out the factory manuals at both http://www.fc3s.org and http://www.iluvmyrx7.com .

hey you could just do what I did .....I really hated to get out to pull my relay especially in the rain or cold so I put the switch in the simplest way I know how....I put an in line switch on the line that goes to the relay under the hood...and the switch is on my dash.....all you need is about 11 feet of wire(enough to hide it and not look like dukie) and a on/off toggle switch from any auto/electrical store. and the rest is history....very simple ....trust me ...If I can do it....anybody can..

hope it helps

tda79 03-26-2002 03:07 PM

by the way the relay should have "INJ" or something to that effect on it.

phinsup 03-26-2002 03:37 PM

yea what tda79 said, I did the same thing. 13BAce is right though if you have a problem you need to get that looked at. I just use it for occasional flooding.
