Thumbs up

ok so i want to double check what the resistance is on the fuel pump resistor relay. there are three pins and the resistance i got goes as follows

_ _ =0.5 ohms

_ _ =77 ohms <- WTF 77 ohms!!!!!

_ _ =1.3 ohms

i am pretty sure that the relay is bad but i want to know the factory resistance before i go hunting for a new fuel pump relay

There is an internal resistor on the relaybetween the coil input and the common ground so you are measuring the magnetic coil resistance, which as far as I know is normal. I do not know what the resistance is supposed to be right off hand though.

Ok, well in the haynes manual, it says resitance should be from 5 to 7 ohms... mine is at 1.2ohms and the car runs like ****...

PS: This is on the S5 btw, measuring the two thick wires coming from the resistor box, and it also says to measure TWO wires on the S4 car as well... so I dont get what's going on with /\ guy up there.
