I agree, a petrolium based tire dressing on the rubber seals will help.

A cup of warm water always works to unfreeze my locks too. If you don't have warm water you could always pee on the lock too, I suppose. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

Pissing on the lock..... Best response ever.....LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

Spray wd-40 into the lock after you shoot it with lock de-icer. Lock de-icer is hydrophillic, it attracts water and will cause the sliders and pins inside the lock cylinder to corrode, making 10 times more likey to stick. Use armorall, or silicone spray on your seals, if you dont have any put a little bit of used motor oil on a rag and wipe it down (ghetto, but it works)

oh, and dont mind bigturbo74 AKA bighomo74, he's a prick and one of many reasons why i cant stand here anymore

one should use lock lubricant if they can find it, it contains graphite and is the best for locks

wd40 also works and is usually handy though

plus hot water freezes faster than cold water.

not really, you know.

I washed alot of cars when it was just about freezing out, I can tell you that hot water gives you more of a chance then cold water does, that and leaving the car running with the heat blasting, lol

if your water is starting out hot it gives you that much more time before it reaches freezing.

HAHAHA....great topic, this **** happened to my car for the very first time the other night and I wondered the same thing.

My car sure is squeaky and annoying in the cold.

could you put something on the rubber seals to keep them from sticking, like armor all or vaseline or pam non-stick cooking spray?
