Frozen Shut
#1
Every time it gets kinda cold here my car gets pretty much frozen shut. The passenger door lock will usually unlock easily and you have to be careful when opening the door because the rubber seals get stuck together. The driver side door lock will not turn and often the key will not go in all the way. Does this ever happen to anybody else? My friends cars are from the same time frame and their cars open just fine.
Happy Holidays
Thanks,
kevin

I agree, a petrolium based tire dressing on the rubber seals will help.
A cup of warm water always works to unfreeze my locks too. If you don't have warm water you could always pee on the lock too, I suppose.

My locks freeze on my 88, it can be a pain to get it open. Using a lighter to heat up the key works good. Be careful when pulling up on the handle I managed to break part of mine off so it would flex enough not to pop the door open.

I've tried playing around with the lock but it really gets frozen good, my passenger side is very easy usually, that's what i want to figure out, and it's not a good idea to put hot water on a forzen car....you can crack your windows and plus hot water freezes faster than cold water.
