Frozen Motor!

OK. So I put my car in my grandma's barn while I'm at school. I prepped it for storage like draining the fuel remove battery etc. I'm going home today for the next month and I was thinking about my cart and I began to think how it was cold in the barn (planning on working on my car in there) and then I remembered... I'm fairly certain that I still just have pure water as the coolant!!! I'm hoping that I just don't remember adding real coolant. I will kill myself if the ice popped my engine.



What usually goes when the coolant freezes? Does it usually just take out the radiator or wil it crack housings also? I am so pissed at myself right now. Why does water have to be like the only substance to expand when it solidifies!!!!

If it froze you are screwed. Happened to a local with his brand new worked 3 rotor...

I don't know if its rotary urban legend but I have heard of 12a housings cracking all too hell. Dunno about 13b's though but it seems the same chances...

take the engine out and defrost it in an oven or something



that sucks though, did you try turning it by hand ?

That port looks bigger than my FIST! Tell me that is damage from freezing! LOL Otherwise that is the fuggliest port job I have seen heheh.



I joke but that must be expansion damage cause there is not enough material for the corner seal to journey across

No joke, a bad mix of coolant did that over a winter to one of the member's cars... Cozmodonk, aka Fujiwara(sp?)

why did you drain the fuel?? your sasposed to have atleast half of a tank when you store a car.
