Well, I have been told I was trying to put it too far back it actually goes right behind the bumper.

The problem is half of the damn thing is behind the bumper, whats the point??

Also the piping blocks out the brake ducts and it really seems like it will restrict airflow to the radiator and oil cooler.

I have come to the conclusion that this I/C is better suited for drag racing and not road course. I am all about road course so I am not installing this i/c in my car. I am having turbonetics make me a custom I/C to my specifications.

If anyone wants to buy JUST THE INTERCOOLER no piping make an offer. I'll even pay shipping just to get it out of my sight. What a ******* expensive mistake I have made! I am really pissed over this.
thats where your wrong. If i were drag racing, i would run a liquid to air or no intercooler at all. The intake charge doesnt get hot enough to really neccesitate a big intercooler. But, if your road racing, you need to keep that air cool. The turbo is going to get very very hot, and will heat up the intake charge within a lap. No doubt. The piping blocks the factory ducts yes, but be smart, go to home depot and run some NACA ducting (which will be far better.) Cooling is not a big problem as the FC oil cooler still gets cold air and as long as you run a decent radiatior (which you will need regardless if you road race) you will be fine.
You need an IC for drag racing.

I had over 200F air temp by the time i was at the end of the track with the stock IC.

FMIC the temp just kept cooling down the faster i went down the track, thus more power, lower ets

But a water to air ic is the best for drag.

Well decded to have one custom made. It wll measure 26" from end tank to end tank and wll be 12" tall (possbly 10" depending on core availability) .

I am positioning the inlet at the bottom passenger side pointing back and the outlet at the top drivers side pointing back at a 45 degree angle actually pointing right at the hole where the cooling duct for the battery is.

I am going to clock the turbo to point downward and run a short pipe to the I/C then to run from the I/C to the intake manifold I am opening up the hole where the battery cooling duct was and going straight at it again a fairly short run.

I will probably eliminate 2 feet of piping with this setup and by the looks of the Greddy I/C after the bumper is put back in I beleive my setup will provide excellent intercooling.

I also have a Fluidyne Radiator so thats not an issue.

I am submitting my intercooler drawings to a few different custom shops for bid. I will post up the price as soon as I get a good one.

I will also post up some pics of this thing after it is made and after its installed. I never said the Greddy is not a good one I just think it is overkill. Ths I/c is only slightly smaller and I have eliminated a lot of piping I think the 2 feet I said above might be an underestimate.

If anyone wants to make a decent offer on the Greddy Intercooler I'll pay shipping.

Here is my design for the "JIMS5543FMIC" I am waiting for some bids to come back to make it. It will fit right in front of the radiator.
