I need to know how any of you mounted this thing. I have the Greddy Type 24V. I refuse to cut the frame of the car. This is supposed to be a performance upgrade. I do not want to compromise the integrity of my cars front end especially its ability to withstand a front impact which Greddy tech support says cutting the frame will do.

Here is a pic of the problem.

That's alot to cut out of the frame. The old style Greddy IC requires cutting into the radiator supports, but that's not a big deal since it doesn't hold everything together. How do they say you should mount it. I've seen a few people use that IC, but I never heard of them having to cut the frame. The old style IC had to be dropped in from the top.

from here you need to cut the "fiberglass" reinforcement bar not any metal, well a tiny bit. and you have to remove the bumper and all of that crap too

Well, I have been told I was trying to put it too far back it actually goes right behind the bumper.

The problem is half of the damn thing is behind the bumper, whats the point??

Also the piping blocks out the brake ducts and it really seems like it will restrict airflow to the radiator and oil cooler.

I have come to the conclusion that this I/C is better suited for drag racing and not road course. I am all about road course so I am not installing this i/c in my car. I am having turbonetics make me a custom I/C to my specifications.

If anyone wants to buy JUST THE INTERCOOLER no piping make an offer. I'll even pay shipping just to get it out of my sight. What a ******* expensive mistake I have made! I am really pissed over this.

How are you going to run the piping? It's hard to get something big in there with alot of direct air unless you either make a duct or have a bigger hole in the front bumper.

I noticed the brake duct problem, along with not being able to use the stock fog lights.

thats where your wrong. If i were drag racing, i would run a liquid to air or no intercooler at all. The intake charge doesnt get hot enough to really neccesitate a big intercooler. But, if your road racing, you need to keep that air cool. The turbo is going to get very very hot, and will heat up the intake charge within a lap. No doubt. The piping blocks the factory ducts yes, but be smart, go to home depot and run some NACA ducting (which will be far better.) Cooling is not a big problem as the FC oil cooler still gets cold air and as long as you run a decent radiatior (which you will need regardless if you road race) you will be fine.
