first off those lights in those J-spec FTP lenses are barely noticable, they are like 5 watts or some ****, you cant go driving around with them as your lights. Save your money and get the normal ones.

2nd- new flash to pass lenses look great, much better then 2 holes

in the bumper.

and 3rd- I dont hink they arent really lenses for passing. Back in the "old" days, before radar detectors became popular and those detectors that were out cost a bazillion dollars, people used to flash thier high beams to warm traffic coming the other way that there was a cop using radar or sitting on the side of the road, so when you seen someone flashing thier lights, you slowed down. Next time someone is flashing thier lights driving the opposite way, take notice if there is a cop up ahead.

I doubt mazda would call them "cop ahead lights", so thats my take on the whole FTP thing

I "flash-to-pass" on the street, I do it on the track too. Just because you friggin New Yorkers "ride- the-persons-***-to-pass" doesn't mean nobody uses them.

Damn Yankees.

In Europe you cannot pass anyone on the right lane and every once in a while you get an *** that rides in the left lane on the autobahn and you want to go 150 and this jerk is cruising at 80 so you flash him so he moves over. Maybe it's like that in japan too?

Some people also like to flash some one to let them in or turn or something.

There are several reason to flash the brights plus the FTP gives the bumper some movement. It would look pretty boring if the holes were just filled in.
