Well, I started to run some of the pipes, just to get an idea of where the holes are gonna need to be cut... and I have come across a few problems.

1. My air filter/cleaner system is going to need to be moved down some, no biggy there.

2. My battery will have to be relocated. Again, not a big issue since I was gonna do that anyways.

3. The final pipe hits my master cylinder for the brakes. This is a problem. I am still able to get the pipes in, but it rubs pretty bad on the master cylinder. I may try and bend the cylinder over some and get some padding to put around it...we'll have to see...

here are some pics though....

I'll get that problem fixed though..here is another shot. I cant wait to get it all in. I think that it is going to make changing my spark plugs a lil more difficult, but I do like the fact that it opens the top of my engine bay up, and the removal of my TB/UIM, etc will be a lot easier now!

Looks good. Nice Greddy adapter. Makes me wish I had one!

Have you thought of trimming the pipe so that you can slide it farther into the coupler and away from the MC? Then use the rest of the couplers to allow the shift and make up for the slight movement.

i also have the same for sale, or for give.... but not polished. i suppose i cuold shine it up if needed.

Yea..i was thinking about that. I'm going to cut the other holes cut and run the other pipes first...I dont want to cut the pipes until I'm sure everything else wont be affected. If anything else, I can have about .25" machined off the back of the new GReddy elbow...that'll give me some space..i'll find a way..no biggie...

ioTus 08-01-2003 06:41 PM

yeah looks like you could trim some of the connecting bit on the pipe, too. plenty of straight bit there to connect to.

Rotaryman88 08-01-2003 06:46 PM

Yea..i dont feel its a real problem...but i was looking for the first FMIC install w/out a hitch ever..lol..

but hey, at least i took my PS off..I learned from the last FCs i installed FMICs on that the PS is a bitch to work around...thats actually one of the reasons i took it off. first reason was more HP and less stress on motor, then the FMIC reason, then cheaper since i dont have to buy that belt anymore https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
