I am trying to install my stereo system in my 2nd gen and i can't find a good place to feed wire through the firewall. There is a hole up top on the passenger side but i can't see where it goes to. I thinking about drilling a hole at the bottom of the wall because there should be no wiring there that could be cut. I was just wondering what you guys might have done. Any tips or advice would be greatly helpful.

thanks.

I've seen it run through where the throttle cable goes through on the driver side but if the wire is too big, thats not really a good place. I've run it down through another hole behind a grommet higher up on the driver side too but its hard to line it up with the hole on the inside if I remember correct.

on the passenger side of the firewall you can run it thru where the ECU wires go thru, its a big set of wires going thru the firewall thru a big rubber grommet, take a screwdriver or something blunt, push the grommet on top and insert a snake ( a coat hanger will work if you dont have a snake ), it will end up behind the glove box I believe at that point. Connect your power wire to the hanger/snake, and pull it thru. You should probably take the glove box out so you can see whats going on.

I ran my 7/8" temperature sender thru there, there is no reason you cant run your wire thru there, dont drill any holes.

Yeah, the ac or throttle cable holes are your best bet unless your running a 4 guage or bigger power cable.Prolly easier just to drill a hole and stuf a grommet on it.

You could always run it through where the speedo cable goes through, I've seen it done where you just cut a slit in the rubber gromlet and feed the wire through that way, probably not the best way, but it's quick easy and it works
