Well, the problem with the TII that I am looking at has no front bumper, mirrors, or an interior. So that's why I set it higher than normal. I just like the look of the BREW in the engine bay. But I guess the time will come when I want to choose an engine. Turbo kit is undetermined right now. I may just say screw it and put a stock s4 13bt and just enjoy it. Everything is pretty much up in the air as far as the power goals are concerned. 400hp fd's scare me, so I am probably gonna stay within 300-350hp. I know it's pretty easy with the BNR stage 2 turbo. Undetermined ECU also.

Going onto LincolnTech, did you enjoy it there? Was it useful for what you are doing on a day to day basis? I have looked into it alot. I just need to know is it really worth going to?

if you want the brew look just put the fd manifold on a 13bt...thats the only noticeable thing...well the only REALLY noticeable thing to MOST people lol.

350hp in a nice light fc is fun and faster then youd imagine.

12k will give you enough to build it right.

as for lincoln tech....personally i considered it simply something to put on my resume, it gives you something to make you stand out a bit more on your interviews. did it help me...ehh it helps you learn the theories behind how things operate, but not so much as to how to work on the car itself. we have a lincoln tech kid in my shop right now as an intern, kid doesnt even know where to put the oil into the engine or how to tighten wheels. Its what you make of it really. if you go there and focus on the work and everything you'll know a decent amount but you still wont be an a-tech. you need hands on everyday to really learn how to work on cars.

in summary, lincoln is good for learning the basics of hands on work and the theories of the parts youll be replacing such as how the o2 sensors work and bla bla bla. its also setup like a work environment with harsh penalities for lateness and absences. You will learn more in 6 months at a shop then in the 12 months at lincoln tech tho, but lincoln tech provides a decent foundation on which to build your knowledge onto.

Personally i went to LTI for 15 months (that was the old setup) in january it will be 3 years since i graduated. I am now the head tech at my shop and im making around 60k a year right now (before taxes). I have 3 ASE's which i passed my first time, and will be signing up for more this round. I do anything/everything in the shop....and im 22. I'm probably classified as a B-Tech because i've had limited experience with timing belts and the internals of engines at least while at work...which is all that counts. I do know guys from my class who are still lube techs making $8/hour and doing stupid work. So like i said...it's all what you make of it.

and just a bit more about my work, the former head tech was pretty good but decided to move on and so i took over. I increased our profit by about $15-20k a week. Alignments alone i increased 330%. but im a modest fellow. But once i leave this job, probably next year, i'll probably be looking at $80k or more a year with my qualifications.

I may just go for the s4 13bt. They are priced at around 1k, which is dirt cheap. Might rebuild it, might not. Ports will be kept stock, I will probably go with the BNR stage 2 turbo setup, fmic, and all the other stuff for everything to run properly. I just want a nice, fast, clean TII. I don't want an FD, I like em and all, but the FC is just so much cooler. Especially if it's an S4, my 20 year old car just SPANKED your new car. hehe.

well, i got a job at sears auto center. it will help out alot I believe. I am

just considering lincoln tech, because getting into a dealership or larger shop that does everything will take me another 1-2 years. which is fine. i don't want to rush anything right now, because I am not really sure if I want to do auto mechanics for my career. i might consider diesel instead though. a guy at my work is in the BMW step program, and he says it is badass. he just graduated this July.

well since james hasnt posted, we got his car started on sunday, waterpump was pissing out coolant so we'll put a new one on there and we need a few more bits and pieces. we have to set the timing and make sure everythings good, we had it running for like a total of like 30 seconds or a minute, i wanted to be careful since the coolant was leaking out.

ok its been a while i know but today kevin came over set the timing and fixed a minor coolant leak just need to set coolant thermal switch for the e fan then should be abled to take her on a ride. kevin adjusted the tps and timing and the car starts right up idle is alot more choppy then was originally kev said it was do to the new port but once you bring the rpms up a little this thing sounds like a ****** monster im so stoked cant wait to drive it. and monday or tuesday i have alot of suspention stuff coming from mazda trix. now just have to get it registered. and btw just started the last of my classes at lincoln tech and as kevin said it really is only good for a reference for a job and learnig out the book as kevin said u learn a lot more in a private shop hence why im alway hanging at kevs shop you learn alot watching whats going on and how things are done. even though i will be installing my new suspension parts in the steering and suspention class with in the next month

yea as james said we got his car up and running today. Had to re-stab the CAS as it must not have lined up properly but as soon as i re-stabbed it you could her the difference and as i slowly adjusted it with the light on all of a sudden it came alive. A little tweaking of te TPS and it was idling like a champ. Still need to touch up a bit of te idle controls due to it trying to stall on deceleratio and it also needs to seat in a little bit as in total it has only like five minutes of run time.

Only problem we had after replacing the water pump was some miscommunication between me and james i thought he removed the thermowax so i told him to block off the rear hose, he didnt remove the thermowax tho so he left the top coolant hose connected, so the TB was throwing up coolant for a bit.

All in all its going good, not 100% yet i need a good days worth of time tweaking **** nd it needs to seal itself up a bit more, and we need to fix an exhaust leak and i think it will be great. it sounds ncie at around 2500rpms, like its really ready to get out on the highway.
