Dude, pulling all of that stuff of is a waste of time. Could've pulled the motor out with just the UIM/TB, wiring harness pulled through the firewall, motor mounts undone, WITH the tranny attached. I did it, and it works like a charm. All the time it took was about 3 hours, maybe 4 hours.

But I guess you have turbo, so that may take longer.

What are the plans for everything? Just doing a stock setup?

rowtareh... i dont need pointers for removing motors, thank ya ver. much https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

he wanted to redo numerous amounts of things under the hood, and its as much of a restoration as it is a performance thing. we want it to look good and not look like a hack job.

if i wanted i could've swapped motors completely up and running in like half a day....but that's not doing it right.

this isn't meant to be halfassed. we inspected everything and anything i saw a problem with I told james to replace it and he gladfully did.

james wants his t2 to eventually be at the level as my yellow t2 to give you an idea of why it we took our time.

just letting ya know, you know that i know what im doing so im just letting you know im helping mastermind this creation https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png.

For now he's going to run the stock s4 turbo with this motor just to get any and all bugs out. then we're going to take a good look at his overall goals and I'll match him up with a turbo setup, by that point i should have some nice manifolds and other custom work going on so I can build him something nice.

kevin, impregnate me with your seed. NOW!

Yeah, I know, I was just saying you could pull all of that stuff off later when ya yank it out. I wonder how different it is pulling a T2 compared to an NA. I have seriously only seen ONE T2 before. ONE!!! N/A's out the ass though of course.

you should come down to my place sometime this winter, i'll finally have the yellow t2 in the new garage, james' should be running...and my n/a is well an n/a.

but i have lots of fun stuff https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png. or you can wait till the yellow car runs and have some real fun lol.

anyway after re-reading what you said we actually pulled the motor just like you described except instead of pulling the harness thru the wall we unplugged all the stuf on the motor, wouldve been quicker to pull the harness through the wall but it was fragile lol.

we had the motor out in notime, driveshaft gave us a tad of trouble for a minute or so.

All I have is a wrecked 89 GXL that is being parted out. I got no fun toys at all!

The only problem i had was the stupid shifter kept hitting the damn transmission tunnel. It was too difficult to do all the bolts on the transmission to the block, so I just yanked it all together. I had the 2 motor mount bolts, the driveshaft's 4 bolts, harness through the firewall, a/c condenser lines, and power steering lines undone, and just yanked it. Took all of maybe 30 minutes to actually pull the motor out. Longest part was the damned exhaust.

Yer in Jerzee right? And I want to buy your T2 from ya still man, that thing is georgeous!!!

after all the fighting ive had to do with fedex to get reimbursed for my lost housings ill be hanging on to it for longer then i was going to, but dont worry ill be doing plenty of t2 projects all with the same quality https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png.

hell if you buy a t2 you can give it to me and ill get it lookign and running excellently....it costs $$$ tho, lots of it lol. doing my t2 correctly cost way more then ever projected but i know itll be fun after its all said and done.

kevin.

ps. god i hate fedex.

I am hopefully buying a roller TII that has no rust and in good shape soon. I want to the 13b-REW swap. I just need another rotary, and why not do a TII with a good powerplant.

Budget is pretty much 12k and the time span is no big deal at all. I don't care if it takes 5 years.

Hey, you went to LincolnTech right? I think I remember you saying you did go there.

james is in lincoln right now, i went there.

12k budget? and youre gonna swap in a brew? bleh with 12k keeping the stock 13bt you could make either serious power or reliable fun numbers (400-ish, but pretty reliable). hell james is probably around 4k right now and he should make decent power, and after we swap in a new turbo he should be around $6k and have reliable fun power. my other t2 of course, well i dont even want to think about dollar signs.

Well, the problem with the TII that I am looking at has no front bumper, mirrors, or an interior. So that's why I set it higher than normal. I just like the look of the BREW in the engine bay. But I guess the time will come when I want to choose an engine. Turbo kit is undetermined right now. I may just say screw it and put a stock s4 13bt and just enjoy it. Everything is pretty much up in the air as far as the power goals are concerned. 400hp fd's scare me, so I am probably gonna stay within 300-350hp. I know it's pretty easy with the BNR stage 2 turbo. Undetermined ECU also.

Going onto LincolnTech, did you enjoy it there? Was it useful for what you are doing on a day to day basis? I have looked into it alot. I just need to know is it really worth going to?
