what up guys? well, finally got the low milage GXL in good running condition after replacing the secondaries. we figured it was bout time to get it a lil faster. its kinda quick for an automatic car but, definently needs to be faster! well, i snagged a cold air for a probe. the MAF adapter fits now that i've drilled a few new holes and did a lil cutting. anyways- i had like 3 feet of pipe and figured, hey, why waste it. i was also thinking that the old acordian pipe **** cant be good for flow so why not get rid of it? anyways- to the question. i've got all the piping n **** worked out so that the MAF adapter bolts up at the TB angle pipe and the pipes go down to where the air box was. do you guys think the MAF will function right if its coupled and clamped up there at the angle from the TB? im sure hoping all this works out cause it damn sure looks good. tomorow we'll finish that and probably put the exhaust on- eliminates 1 cat and goes through glasspaks.

It should work. The MAF sensor may be sensitive to position like upside down or to the side because of that flapper door garbage but repositioning it up or down the intake track shouldn't be a prob because of the amount of air going through it won't be that much different than having it in its normal place with a cone filter. Let us know how it goes.

You can mount the AFM any way you want. It won't work if you're AFM has a problem, but a healthy AFM can be mounted and work perfectly fine any way you want.
