might wanna locate the problem with the stock setup before you get an aftermarket ign box. Would be a shame to buy something that you don't need, or have a problem fry the new box. It could be something as simple as a connector being pulled apart. Go to www.iluvmyrx7.com and DL the FSM. Look thru the electrical section and trace it out on the engine. Hopefully you find a simple problem to fix. Unless your FC is heavily modded and turbo....i doubt you need any type of ignition upgrade.

good luck

give more info..have you taken the plugs out ..do they smell like gas/..see if the wire connections are good..check ignition wire connection at plugs and on coil and check the vacuum hoses ..one bad hose ..is all it takes ..can you hear the fuel pump whine when you turn the key before you start it.(wait before you start) don't pump the pedal ... hvae you tried airing the gas out of the cylinders (roll it over a couple times while plugs are out )...if you get it started make sure that you change the oil first chance..there will be gas in the oil..have you done compression check?you should if the plugs are out ..done by removing top plugs unplug CAS and take out the EGI fuse ..on the compression tester ,take the needle valve out of the tester so it doesn't hold reading...crank it over about 6-7 times and look for the meter to bounce...3 good bounces ..you're good...2 low bounces and 1 high is a bad apex seal and that means engine rebuild ..some **** to set into your melon anyhew good luck,,and post results and more info if you can ..see ya!

fuel pump. after i picked up my free 86base rx7 it had been sitting for 3 years. brought it home and it wouldnt start. fuel pump was messed up... it sorta pumped enough to make the engine start barely then die. so i replaced it and the spark plugs... that damn thing fired right up and sounded great... even though my entire street was full of smoke from those nasty cat.s and oil... if it wont start im tellin you... replace the spark plugs... make sure you get 2 leading plugs and 2 trailing plugs and put them in right way and replace the fuel pump and feul filter and youll be good to go

Do a compression check. Just get a regular comp gauge and pull the valve core out of it. Look for even bounces up to around 90 or so.

If the car's been sitting for a long time, drain the gas tank and put a few gallons of fresh fuel in it.

And be sure its not flooded. If you've been trying to start it, and it isn't starting, I guarantee its flooded.
