Engine Starts Then Dies!

i need somebody else's word on this??? ok itwill start and run when i first start it for the day....but it will die in like 15 sec. or so....every other time itry starting it....it runs untill i take my hand off the key...so eney information would be greatly helpfull...!?!?!

That is most likely a vacc leak. Read: Air related...ie did you plug the AFM plug back in? Vacc hoses? etc...

i thought it would be an air leak....but what and where is the AFM?!?!

its like a button and when u depress it it cuts off the fuel to your car so you cant start it ( this is done so that no one will steal your car) usually theyhide it under the seats. i got mines hidden lolo

AFM = air flow meter. I assume you have an '86? It is the silver boxy thing that is located coming out of your air filter box. and has the thick black tube comin; out of it going to your throttlle body (TB).



If you dont know what the AFM is, you probably did not touch it, so the plug sould be still on.



In which case you will need to give us more info. Like , what did you touch? Was the car always doing this? Did something all of a sudden make it do that? etc...
