I'm pretty sure limp mode only accures on series 5 vehicals that develops a problem with the electrical omp system. I'd check if your timing is correct and tps and throttle settings are in proper specs.

When you say to check if the TPS and throttle setup are within spec. What do i reference those against? I can check timing but not too familiar on how to troubleshoot the TPS and throttle setup nor how to figure out what the correct setup is for them.

Thank you

Haha thanks for the help dude! Ill give this a shot. I just wanna get it going with not a whole lot of money and time as mentioned before. Saving that money for the swap primarily. I might even pick up an OBD1 reader if i cant figure out the home made code reader, could be useful in the future as im sure the swap probably wont go over too smoothly!

You sure you dont want to buy it? lol

our cars are pre odb so you have no luck with one of those. also try to avoid the ohm test there a link around here how to make a check light out of leds i just had a problem checking my tps with the ohm test bc taking resistance of a 20y/o part doesnt work too well all my ohm readings were correct and the tps was still fucked
