Hey guys, here is my problem

when i sop my car after driving for a while, it starts smoking from the engine bay, it smells like oil, BUT i know i am constantly loosing clutch fluid, because i couldn't get her in gear last night at a friends house, had to put fluid in and rebleed the clutch (

PAIN IN THE *** ). so , since my master cylinder is new, i figured it would be the slave cylinder, still the first one in there, so i am getting that this afternoon.

You think this will solve the problem, i thought my clutch fluid is leaking drop by drop when i push the clutch, onto my downpipe or header or whatever it is right there lol.

Also, when the car is just sitting there idling, it wont smoke until i start pumping the clucth Oo ,

Suggestions ...

Well, it's pretty clear that you're leaking clutch fluid (watch out, since I believe that's the same fluid supply as the brakes).

The slave piston would be receiving pressure when the clutch was pressed in. When you press the clutch, you start seeing smoke.

I'd personally check hoses first, since a cracked line could cause this, and would be cheaper to fix. If not hoses, than probably the slave. See if you can have someone press the clutch while you look under the hood to see where the smoke is coming from. Trace that straight up, and you'll hopefully see the leak.

The clutch fluid resevoir and the brake fluid resevoir are seperate from each other.

As for finding the leak it really shouldn't be too hard since there is only a short piece of line you have to check.

if it smokes that means something is burning off of something else, so some fluid is leaking somewhere. the oil filter/clutch slave area will make its way to the exhaust, so that could be it

Gotta check the simple stuff first. :-)

Couldn't you just get a length of hose from your local auto parts store & use it? Or take the time to replace it with stainless steel.
