this past monday me and my brother went to the dyno to get the his rx7 tuned it has a haltech .he has a s5 engine with an extreme street port .now i was told that street porting an engine was suppose to give you big power gain and all .but i feel something went wrong with the dyno or somehthing because we dint get that much power .the car was tuned on a (MD) mustang dyno....on a dyno jet add 18.8% thats what the tuner said

he ran the car untuned and got about 140(MD) rear wheel horse power after 3 hours of tuning the car ran 199.8 (md) rear wheel horse power at 12 psi thats about 237 rear wheel horse power on a dyno jet which is were most people dyno there cars.

we were expecting around 260(md) at wheels

so do you guys think ........is the reading is some what right or its wrong

or should it be more or less?

Are you still using the stock turbo with this streetport?

Yeah, what other mods have been done to the car? Any restrictions on the intake or exhaust? Is this tuner experienced with turbo rotaries?

I've never had my car on a dyno, but based on my 1/4-mile trap speed and 2800 lbs. weight, I'm guesstimating about 240 RWHP, and that's on a tired old stock block with a hybrid and a little extra fuel and a Haltech and 3" exhaust, etc. etc.

Dragstrip dyno works for me. Just start a little rich on the fuel, log some data, and go from there.
