use an ohmmeter and check the resistance of the coil(s), over 1 ohm means the coil is bad and needs replaced
Assuming the coils are in good condition you should next check the ignitors. Unless you have an igniter checker you will have to do it the old-fashioned way which can get you shocked, the following is at your own risk.
Hold the plug with an insulated tool and keep it close to a grounded out source in the e-bay while someone bumps the key for you, do one plug at a time and, if the car should turn over and run, shut it down immediately.
89 Rag I am confused... My Haynes manual and FSM say that the resitance on functional coils should be between .2 and 1 Ohm.

if you got a haynes manual PAGE 124...that will let you know if youve got pressure...remember your workin with FUEL..be careful ...have you check any of the lines from the tank to the filter...filter new?is it on right?.I would have my face in the manual to look at what the parts of the fuel system are and how the work you never said when this whole thing started..just i have a problem did you do any thing before hand..was it fine you replaced something then it wouldn't start..any how my 2 cents.

check your fuel pump... that was problem... when i got my car it had sat for 3 years... i replaced the plugs then it would start and sputter but then die.... i replaced the fuel filter and primary injectors too just for hte ehll of it... but all it neaded was a new fuel pump really... pull back your rear carpet and youll see a square metal cover unscrew it and have someone turn the car over and feel the top of the fuel pump with your hand for vibration and listen for the buzzing sound it makes... if it does nothing or it kindof comes on and off then thats your problem.... you might want to also check the fuel pump relay before you replace the pump just to make sure it isnt the relay thats bad
