As long as the housing are in decent shape not peeling or anything like that just you atkins two piece apex seals and it should be just fine, I know someone that built an engine with used housing but used the atkins seals and when done the compression was in the 8's.

 

i used to work at the same dealership as rob did (he was there about 10years before me), the story is that he got his hands on a factory race pp motor and put it in his repu, apparently it would do about 0-100 in the length of the dealership.
