I am leaking the following:

Oil Pan Gasket - Leaks varying amounts of oil. Changing the gasket, I heard, is a bitch. PLEASE post suggestions or band-aids.

Coolant - My accdent folded vertical supports that are made pretty much of tin foil, and spun my 'Danger Cap' almost 180 degrees. and ripped off the overflow bottle of it's connection, yet the overflow hose that goes to the top of the radiator is still there. I blew out like an ounce or two of coolant when I revved my engine high.

Differential Oil - I only noticed this today. It seems to be coming from the filler bolt, which I tightened a little. Drove it for a while and put something light blue under it to see how much would still come out. I found two drops about an hour ago.

Question: Is there a little rubber gasket for the filler bolt on the differential?

Question: Can I loosen/remove the mount that goes into the oil pan to change the gasket without supporting the engine with a hoist or something?

Question: Can I cry now?

oil pan: try torking the bolts, sometimes they are loose. if not you need to lift the engine a little and pull of the mount and then the pan, its pretty easy but its a huge mess

coolant: so you have the weird recall kit with the overflow tube in the center of the radiator? basically you need to fix/replace whats broken

diff: theres a crush washer on the fill plug 9956-41-800....

I'll torque the bolts on the oil pan when I get a chance to get under the car.

Recall kit? huh?

What's a crush washer? There's this metal place thing between the fill bolt and the differential itself. I think that might be causing my leak, I dunno. It IS rather bent.

Oooh, that's a recall kit. My car has that, and some FC owners have questioned me about it.

As for removing the motor mount, you can drive the car onto ramps, and support the engine with a jack, I found that to be pretty effective. I didn't remove my oil pan, but I did remove that mount when replacing motor mounts. For the love of God, drain the oil first. I made a terrible mess.

Crush washers can be found in any auto parts store, the trick is finding the right size.

You missed my question. I don't know what a crush washer is. There's this metal tag thing in between the fill bolt and the differential that is bent, maybe it's causing the leak? I dunno. Getting the car restarted is my main concern right now.

What was the recall kit for?

The accident folded vertical supports between the rad support and that front hood-bushing piece, so the 'Danger cap' spun 180 and the line that goes into the coolant bottle cap got ripped off.

Drove it again today. Other than those two drops from yesterday afternoon, I found none under the car, just oil.

Drove the car a bit today after I got it to start (Read oh you've got to be KIDDING me!). Drove fine, held charge okay, just pulled into my driveway annnnnnnd---

Drip.

So far, one drop of oil.

We'll see how this goes.

a crush washer is an aluminum or copper washer that is soft enough to be used as a gasket. the metal tab on the back of your diff used to be a tag that said 'limited slip differential' and it is not the crush washer. if you want to stop that leak buy the part number than j9 posted. if you are talking about the drain bolt. if you have something bent on your fill plug i have no idea what it is. pictures would help in this thread...

the early fc's had a radiator cap on the engine, and the overflow tank was on the shock tower, by the fusebox. these cars had problems with air bubbles in the coolant, so they had a service bulletin kit to fix it.

the kit had a tank in front of the hood latch with another radiator cap and then the also had an over flow from the coolant level sensor in the radiator.

the later cars were updated at the factory with the overflow tank in front of the radiator, and then in 88 they moved the radiator cap to the top of the radiator, and the top of the engine just has a filler
