my n/a 91 has 4.10 and limited slip. none of the previous owners ever swapped out the diff.

Perhaps the easy way is show and tell. The following link has scans of the S4 and S5 brochures.

Notice that in the S5 (89-91) brochures no LSD is available for any N/A RX-7s except the GTUs. Also notice that in '91 only 3 models were offered Coupe, Turbo, and Convertible. '91 had no GXL or GTU, or any N/A designation beyond Coupe or Convertible.

i think by coupe there refering to GTUs and the GXL in one model. im really confused right now. i dunno...



how can i break down my VIN to see what i really have???

There was not a GTUs in '91. The GTUs was offered in '89. There are claims for a limited number of the GTUs models in '90. The '90 production number tossed arounded varies, but is always under 100 units. However, it is improtant to note that Mazda denies any '90 GTUs models were built.

I had a part car GTUs that was supposedly a 90. Unfortunately I bought it from Rhode Island and they dont require titles after 10 years so I was never sure.
