1988 turbo II

i blew my rear and broke the front diff mount bracket on subframe (some may have seen my thread a while back). but got another rear from a turbo II parts car of the same year and had problems getting my old axles to fit. finally took a sec to observe the two pumpkins. the output shafts on my old pumpkin were closer to the diff case. so were my old axles longer? got the axles off the parts car and compared and in fact, they were longer. not by much, but enough to make fitting my old axles on the new rear a struggle.

old output shaft

new output shaft

comparison of axles

closer look

well, i'm stumped as to how/why this would be seeming that they both came from turbo II's. maybe someone here has an answer.

long story short, i ended up with a pumpkin and axles from the parts car.
