Hey all,

I have a S4 T2 driveline in my garage awaiting a home.I was going to do a first gen swap but thats starting to look unlikely due to no first gens for sale up here for a long time.I know where theres a 86 Gx sitting that has a auto in it but I have a T2 tranny so no biggie.I also know of a 89 GXL sitting too.But my driveline is S4 would the easier swap be to the S5 or S4?I know the wiring won't work to my engine from the S5 so I'm looking at opinions.

Thanks

Luis

BTW 1revvin7 I searched and couldn't find what I needed so I thought Id make a new thread.

Oh god, have we started bitching at people to search before posting? I sure hope not. I always hated that on the shitty forum.

AHAHAHAHAHA, no i just pinned that thread up-top for newbs

I would If I were you buy the Gxl, S5(s) are a lot nicer.... The drivetrain will bolt right up, all you need is an s4 tranny mount..

get the 89 GXL for the swap, you have to swap in the TII ecu anyhow so no biggie.

if you do the 89 you either have to find/buy s5 ts stuff or use a haltech.

yup, but s4 and s5 are not compatible without making it look like a paste explosion under the dash. it would be way easier to use a standalone, or beg borrow and steal the s5 ecu and wiring harness.
