well...Ive tried everything I could without tearing into the damn thing.

tps is set to my knowledge...

idle adjust screw on top of the throttle body doesnt seem to work...

unplugged the bacv...wouldnt idle AT ALL...plugged it back in cause that doesnt seem to be the problem.

sprayed some WD-40 to check for vacuum leaks, didnt find any off hand...need to check some-more

changed the plugs...the old ones were FOULED! very fouled.

plug wires were swapped too...someone used regular plug wires so, I swapped them out for better contact on the coils...

and right before I went out to mess with it I popped a new battery in it...that was about 2 hours ago...

Im kinda worried about a bad seal now...I really dont want to tear into the engine yet. I guess the next thing Im gonna do is sent the injectors off to be cleaned and what-not, but after that if it still isnt idling right, I dont know what to do!!!

I got a vid a little while ago of it trying to idle...notice I said trying to idle. check it out and lemme know what you think...I have other vids of it too

for the idle vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzsSV4PsM5Q

TYVM for any suggestions!!

haha trade ya!

the damn thing is acting hella weird...before I unloaded it off the trailer, it was idling SMOOTH at 2...since its unloaded the left blinker light on the gauge cluster has started working again and its been idling weird and sometimes it starts in "limp mode" and it wont let me rev above 4k rpm...

trailer queen by heart...lmao

Spark plugs can tell you a lot about an engine. You say they were fouled. Were they covered with oil? Were they wet and smelled of gasoline? Or just covered with a lot of dry, brown carbon?

You may find the answer to your idle problem right there.

If you have concerns about engine seals, do a compression check or have one done. If it turns out good, you have peace of mind. If not, well at least you won't waste time chasing problems that don't matter. Any new to me rotary I like to check compression first, to let me know where I stand.

BAH! lol waiting till payday lol

I did go out and **** around for about 10 mins and figured out that my 5th and 6th port vacuum actuators were stuck, so I opened and closed them and now they work. So there goes my 4k rpm wall, now she revs beautifully. But, the idle is still hideous and there IS a vac leak somewhere, you can hear it after the car dies or I kill the key...its right by the oil filter. I just need to get my lazy *** out there and find it . Ill do it after the rain here clears up, i guess. Well, what could be leaking down vacuum after the engine is off near the oil pump? I didnt see any type of canister there to hold vac...I dunno. I know its going to be something simple and is going to make me look like a jackass when I find it.

UPDATE:

went out to mess with it after work, and I got it to idle a little smoother...thats not saying much though...but I revved it to make sure all the vac actuators weren't stove-up again and in between 2 pretty good revs, the thing backfired...like intake backfire...not gassy exhaust buildup backfire...

now thats got me thinking its something to do with the CAS...or timing...or a combination of that and much much more.

on a positive note, I did get it to idle pretty smooth at 1700 today...rather than 2.5k...haha

well...if anyone has ant ideas, lemme know...kinda trying to fix and not spend atm...waiting for payday
