Correct alt swap infor?/

If you would pls, I know mine s5 alt only has 3 wires on it same as my s5 but damn you read somewhere says this elsewhere says complete opposite

Ah, that would explain it. Mine only has 2 wires.

Ill take a pic of mine when I get home, it has two small wires and on big charge wire, by god I know where that one goes.

the s5 and s6 alternators are wired the same.

Well I got it on today and the sucker puts out 15.3 vlt at idle??? and looks like a S6 alt not an S5, but it came off of an S5 car. But it works fine.

15.3 volts at idle is a bad bad thing. you will toast the alt like that

how do you figure you can get them wired to put out 16 + volts

it has some thing to do with the alternator thinking the battery is completely discharged and it is working as hard as it can to charge it. im not sure what wiring set up causes it but my friend Jrat fried a couple of alts that were outputting 15 ish volts and finally got it right using that picture.



just make sure to follow that picture i posted up and that you have, and it will be perfect.
