Hey all. I have just got a naturally asperated 13B in an 87.

It was sitting for 3 months, started up no prob and no smoke at all on start-up. the only problem it has is a wierd one.

Every 45 mins to an hour the low coolant buzzer comes on, and I find the overflow totally full with coolant.

I pour it back into the engine, (open the bleeder and all). then it does the same thing again. If I waa to leave it , the overflow would **** out coolant until there is no more in the system. THere is a new cap on the filler. Has anyone ever heard of this ?..Or have an idea ?.Its wierd, not burning any or losing any coolant.

Thanks guys....Joe

sounds like you my have a bad seal (or worse yet a crack) in the engine and compression is pushing the coolant out. the 86 i had did this, and if you took off the radiator cap and then started the engine it would shoot out a geyser of coolant 6 feet in the air. i ended up just tossing a used engine in that car

yep, this is step one. might be a bad water pump. my 91 did this, it was a pinhole leak in one of the TB hoses

how hot does your car get on the gauge?? try replacing your thermostat with a mazda one, then inspect your other components, like water pump and radiator......... if your cars getting too hot it can spew coolent out.

start simple. if everything is in order, then id suspect coolent seals

Hey gang thanks for the info. THe car is actually showing a little cool on the gauge, maybe 1/4 way up. I dorve the car for 5 hrs and it ran great , never got hottre . I just had to stop and poor the coolant back in every 45mins to an hour, when the low coolant buzzer went off.

I will try a few things and get back to you all.

double check all your hoses, there are some smaller hoses that run around the throttle body and under the back of the intake manifold into the block, it likes to spring a small leak there sometimes.... mine was mysteriously losing coolent there for months...
