What are the specifications for testing the coolant temperature sensor on the S5? I am having some weird readings and need to test it.

Have you checked the fsm? I know the fd fsm has the resistance values for sensors

its a fun process of boiling water , dropping the sensor into the water with the ohm meter hooked up and read the temp of the water with the sensor in as the water warms up. referance the resistance or voltage to the current temp the water is and cross ref to the factory spec. not a fun or short thing to do.

standard delco curve sender

-20 C = 14 to 17K ohm

20 C = 2.2 to 2.7 K ohm

80 C = .29 to .35 K ohm
