While I'm asking tech, I have a leak in the soft line for the clutch (the short one near the firewall). Is this the same as a brake line (fittings, size)? I'd rather just grab a cheap brake line and put it there, Vs an expensive stealership part, or wait for a semi-expensive Mazdatrix part...

I capped the coolant under the TB with a rubber cap, and hose clamp. It's held up for a few months. I almost did it without removing the UIM, but I had trouble tightening the hose clamp (screw type).

I have taken my UIM off several times now, and this coolant line is the only hard part. Do you have to eliminate your BAC to cap off the barbs on the block and UIM? I guess you would have to cap off the barb from the water pump to the BAC, too. What effect does this have other than making things easier to remove and work on. Is this a system that should remain intact? When removing your UIM do you guys remove this coolant line with the TB connected to the UIM or do you take off the TB first?

I think the coolant on the TB is more useful if you live in areas that see extreme cold.
