i'll try to post some pics up tomarow afternoon. after like a month or so of waiting it finally came in. it took so long because the guy forgot our order. anyway it came in pretty dirty. is there a solvent or something that i could clean it with. and considering i got the clutch and pressure plate should i really change the throwout bearing and why would it be bad. if im putting a used clutch in and the throw out bearing is used why should i replace it?? wouldnt it make sense just to replace it if the clutch and plate were new? and im thinking while that stuff is out i should resurface the flywheel. anything else?i checked for a brand somewhere on it. the plate i think has a "DK" on it. does anyone know if that is oem. the pressure plate was made in japan... and the clutch plate was made i korea i THINK. anyway, any input on replacing anything would be helpful.

If the flywheel is off then yes I would get it resurfaced. Also, why not get a throwout bearing and for that matter a new pilot bearing. Cheap insurance if ya ask me.

where can i get a throw out bearing and pilot bearing? doesnt have to be top quality or anythng. something somewhat oem. this is only temporary cuz my current one is slipping and in my mind i think its a good deal for how much i got this stuff for. normally all i hear people replacing is the throw out bearing. what does the pilot bearing do?

thanx

Mazda OEM would be a good idea and if the prices near you are exhorbitant try www.mazdaformance.com

Here is a pic of the pilot bearing. It holds the input shaft so it can spin.

One more thing. They can be a PITA to remove so do some searches for the best way to remove them. One dude said to put a bunch of grease in there and then stick in the clutch alignment tool and hit it with a hammer. Supposedly the pressure will pop it out

Should be able to find both since they are very common items. I would also call your local dealer just to find out because it would be a whole lot quicker to buy one there.
