Does anyone have one of these clutchs? Are they more a race clutch then they are a street/strip clutch? I read that they have 90% more holding force then the stock unit is that right? If someone has one how is the clutch feel at the pedal? Sorry for all of the questions.
Thanks |
It depends on the model, the Centerforce 3 has 90% or something like that, The Centerforce 1 is close to stock and the Centerforce 2 is the street strip version. I would guess that the Centerforce 3 is not very streetable....

I'm using the Centerforce DF clutch...it supposedly holds 500HP...so i'm sure thats 90% more then stock, lol. The clutch feel is GREAT...way better then the stock NA one I had. As far as how well it holds up, I haven't had a chance to test it on my seven, but my buddy has the same clutch on his '94 cobra mustang w/ 325HP and he drives HARD...the clutch does NOT slip...I was very impressed.

Thanks again. |
Well, I only drove the car about 10 miles on one rotor...damn jspecs, lol. However, the DF clutches are fine for street use, its the triple plate ones ya gotta watch out for...they are really only race clutches. If you get the CenterforceII DF...you'll be fine. The clutch feel is great, not overly stiff, but gives good feel...

After 3 CF cluctches I've learned my lesson don't get one again. Even the Dual Friction I was not impressed, they clutch disc worns out too quickly and burns basically after a few 10k the clutch starts to slip. They just can't take abuse.
I got ACT now, the clutch engagement is more positive, you know when it grabs. It's a real clutch, no gimicks. I have 15k still fine after hard dragging and a few track events dragging the clutch cuase I was learning the sports. C |
i LOVE ACT. i have no love for centerforce. for the same price you can get the ACT which is proven to last abuse https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png turborotor and i haven't had any problems. my clutch was actually used in my TII and its still going fine! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
