I dont mean to **** on FC3s hood deal, but most of the people are all talk on this.

Maybe he will sell a handfull of them to some people who have some money to play with and maybe NEED a new hood, but the odds of someone taking off a perfectly good TII hood and bolting one of these up are pretty slim, who knows maybe a few who do a TII conversion will buy one as well, me personally I would rather use the money towards a FMIC and use the stock hood.

I know the other forum is all CF crazy, but they are also a bunch of cheap *****.

These hoods are CF on top and all fiberglass after that, anyone who makes a hood that opens and closes like a stock hood, and uses a stock latch, can only be made so light.

I bet a race version that is held on with pins only and isnt layed up as heavy would be in the 13-16lbs range.

You are totally right. Most people are indeed full of ****. They have said for years "We want CF hoods" so now that they are done, it's now "I'm gonna save my pennies" LMAO Well, I personally wanted to have this type of hood on both of my cars, and the only other way was to buy 2 of them from Japan and have them shipped here at the low low price of $850 each plus shipping. Well, for a bit over $3000 we now have the molds to make as many as we want to. So it really benefited us the most, and others can ride the coat tails so to speak in getting one at about half of importing one.

Now people keep saying, "I want one with reverse scoops in it" Well, why the hell would we spend more of our money to make hoods that another 5-6 people would buy? I don't really care all that much about profits, since I work a regular job for a living. This is play money what we make, and we turn most of it around into other projects for the cars to develop more cool things. If these don't sell, then we are don't making body parts, and people will just have to enjoy the fact that the rest of their fellow owners don't have the money to buy what they say they want, or just don't want to do it when the time comes.

I personally don't think that a FC with a CF hood looks "ricey" either. Most people say that about things that they either wish they had, or can't afford. It's just my opinion personally, but others agree with both sides of that discussion. Besides, 1 out of every 10 FC owners have a Oddesey battery, but how many of them have one of our hoods hum?

I seen you replied and I hoped you werent going to take my post the wrong way.

I browse the other forum and those guys are cheap ***** who talk alot.

I am in the fiberglass business, I dont produce car parts, I fix, modify, and fabricate on boats. I had thought about making hoods and gave up on it mainly because everyone wants a different scoop, or another vent, etc, etc.

To top it off too many guys think they can make it or do it cheaper, its rather dis-heartning actually.

I admire your guys work on those hoods, what really stopped me from doing them myself was the underside, I didnt want to bother making a mold for the underside, the mold for the top skin I could have done in a day or so. But to invest all the time into making a mold, then to sell a couple didnt seem worth it to me.

I wish you luck and can only imagine the barrage of stupidity that must be coming your way from people who cant rub 2 nickles together to get a dime.

I also thought about making the hoods only if I could pre-sell 20 or so, but who would buy a hood before its made right?

No I didn't take it the wrong way. I understood exactly what you were saying first hand LOL To date we have received payment for a total of 7 hoods. Granted, we just released the pictures of the TII hood, but as many people over the years that said they would buy one if it was reasonable, maybe 2% of those have got one. Of course, it is Christmas time, so I understand money is tight for alot of people, but like I said, it benefited me because I have one for both of my cars now :bigok: I am sure that over the next year or so people will get one, but it isn't any huge loss if they don't. The less I sell the more rare mine is :smirk:

Maybe some bulk sales will make it easier to recoup the money invested.

Let them price a new OEM hood and then they will see yours is cheap by comparision

Especially if they want a TII hood with a scoop, the scoop being sold seperately from the hood at the dealer.

replace the stock battery with a odyssey 'drycell' sealed and you've saved more than that for a shitload less money.

get the Al hood if you don't already have it, and do the battery conversion and you're still way ahead, and you still don't look like a rice boy woohoo!
what happens then when i already have an Odyssey Battery and a front mount, and a haltech, and a street port, and rims, and a set of Corbeau's, and coilovers, and a big turbo. So why couldn't i splurge on this? My money and i didn't see you ever pay for any one of these items. If you can't afford it, then i'm sorry. But i'll do whatever the **** i want with MY car. Why? because i can. Oh you can add a K2RD radiator to that list along with a NX direct port Nitrous system. Have a nice day

That hood would give my car a 30 lbs difference. Not too bad.

i believe the t2 hood lists around $700 and the scoop is like $300+.

back in the day there used to be a black market in stolen t2 hoods, cause its the most expensive crash part.

your hood looks good dave :bigthumg:
