Ok, Im pretty sure that the process for carbon fiber is the same as fiberglass, only carbon fiber cloth is used and epoxy resins, so maybe Ill make my cowl induction hoods out of carbon fiber.

That would definitely be badass.

The cost is alot more materials wise, but I would want mine painted, so why not just use glass??? Then again, the mold would be the same, and people could specify if they wanted a carbon fiber and pay the extra money for it.

Fiberglass is fine with me. The option is a good idea.

The mold would be the same, the materials would be more, if people wanted to pay the premium for the carbon fiber so be it, but I think most people are all talk when it comes to this **** actually:lol:, I still have to figure out if I could just get some hood catches or not so it would simplify things and I would be more comfortable about people driving around with it.

If you wind up getting good with CF you could try making dash overlays, etc.

Rob x-7 06-24-2002 07:36 PM

Dash overlays are actually pretty easy.

Yeah, dash overlays, instrument clusters, gauge pods, center console covers, etc. Ricers beat off to that stuff. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

ps, cowl hood; vented. I would pay for that in fiberglass.
