Canyon Carvin In So. Cal!
#12
lol, right on. Thanks for the input guys. These newb questions will be worked out of me soon enough. I live in Thousand Oaks, its about 45 mins away from LA. My friends and I always go to Mullholland, and those canyons around the Malibu area, you can find some nice areas with lots of twisties that aren't centimeters from the cliff edge. But then again, there are those kinds of streets around there too.

when you rev match you're basically doing the synchros' job of making the gear mate correctly. The more you do it, the less wear the synchros will get.
Yeah, RX-7s handle awesome, just wait until you do suspention mods

Yeah, RX-7s handle awesome, just wait until you do suspention mods
which is the same affect of not revmatching at all

it's actually worse if you revmatch incorrectly vs not at all.
also note that rev matching doesnt do a whole lot if you don't double clutch, since your rev's have little-no influence on the input shaft revolutions without the clutch engaged. If you double clutch / rev match poorly, you'll be fighting the syncros with a driven input shaft.... most people just don't bother rev matching, if you match revs but without double clutching you're really just being a smoother driver, not having much impact at all on the syncros. Rev matching without double clutching will however improve clutch life and other components like trans mounts just because there will be less stress on them, again only if you match the revs well.
