cant start my fc

iv bought an fc but cant start it

when i try to it is like it is but when i stop with the key the engine cuts out,

with the starter turning i have had the engine reving just past 1000rpm

but doesnt carry on without the starter going

previously to me having it it was stood for a while

also when trying to start there is white smoke coming out of exhausts might have been steam as it was wet

any help would be apreciated

if it smells like fuel.. perhaps its flooded..

You could have a blown apex seal and that is leading to low compression. I would check the compression in each chamber. It should be above 90 on each chamber.

it smells a little like fuel i took the spark plugs out and they look new two look brand new just wet and the other two look new but used

so im going to check for a spark tomorrow morning on all four leads

i hope its not a seal:blink:

Have you in fact gone through the "unflooding procedure?" If not, do it!

the way the person who rebuilt my engine told me to deflood was stupid easy i was surprised(this goes for an s4 idk if its the same on an s5) pull the top 2 fuses get in your car crank for 10 3 times put fuses back floor it and crank until starts large amount of smoke for a couple seconds but runs fine in less than a minute

Yeah, that's about right. I used to have to do that everytime I stopped for fuel. I'm not sure if the fix was the cleaned injectors or the Haltech ECU, or a combination of both, but it doesn't do it anymore.



BTW, the way I did it was floor it while cranking with the fuses out, then starting normally.

dont think mine has an ecu

i think its a coil igniter well i hope

i have tried the un flooding procedure

its got spark to all four spark plugs where should the ecu be
