I figure after 20 years of abuse its about time I threw in some new bushings in my RX-7. I'd rather not pay the labor involved in the ordeal (besides it sounds like a great learning experience) I needed to know if there were any specialty tools needed (ie: a press) or anything like that, or will basic tools suffice? (socket set, wrench set, lift, etc)

also what are the benefits of using poly urethane bushings as opposed to stock mazda bushings?

cost vs. benefit are they worth it? after all these ones made it 20 years...

ENERGY suspension products has a great selection of polyurethane bushings... They have a whole kit for the 2nd gen FC (which I am getting for sure at some point)... Good luck. Its not an short/easy job I hear.

nope its a job that will take a few days...we finished doing this on my fc last week before we put the T2 rear end in an n/a body..a blow torch will help out a lot..just burn the bushings out.. a press will help a lot or a bench vice..

you need a press for the front bushings, they are a huge pain.

I guess if you're a girl, I used my hands, but there was a tough one, so I used my Bench vise.
