Hi all,

If anyone remembers my engine blowing at the end of January....I just got it back today from my mechanic after giving him a check for almost $4400. For that I got a new engine with 3 years to blow it up, 4 new injectors,(he said the O rings were all crumbling- no wonder I smelled gas but couldn't find the source and no more flooding and jacking with my kill switch to get it started), new clutch and pressure plate (almost nothing left on the old one) and a rear wheel bearing replaced.

Glad to have the car back, but for that $4400, I'm gonna have to drive the hell out of it for a long time. If I'm lucky, it'll behave itself for a few years.

Cool, so why aren't you driving it? I take it you didn't have it ported? Just a stock remanufactered block?

Definitely driving it- with the top down now that it's been in the 70s here.

It is a stock rebuild. Cost got out of control enough as it was. I may regret not hot rodding it more when it was apart later on.

damn dude porting is just a few hundred bucks when it's already apart, which is pretty insignifcant on that scale
