okay, so i bought my SS brake lines, and will save them until i have money for a brake system overhaul. which brings me to the point of which stuff to upgrade to. i'm only doing this b/c i'm sure the pads need changing and i'm sure the old rotors have been worn (the brakes feel mushy and make strange crunching noise, but they do work).
either way, all i want to upgrade are pads and rotors. which ones should i get? i was noticing the bonez for $140 a peice, with a choice between x-drilled and slotted. which one is better? |
x-drilled is bad, they will crack eventually. its 70's technology. go for either stock or slotted

If you only drive on the street and you want a little bling or do a few auto-x’s a year the cross-drilled are fine. If you do a lot of track days or Solo trails you will want slotted or solid rotors and some better pads. I am running Power slot rotors and Hawk HP+ pads. I love this setup. I can feel my eyes about to pop out of my head under hard braking. But, the Hawk HP+ brake pads squeal and dust like a MF'er. |
In almost every case, stock rotors with upgraded pads are fine. If you're running around Laguna Seca, you may want to upgrade the rotors. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Ok, so if you run around LS you don't have to change the rotors...you win. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
