right ok so i have an 89 tII and i was pulling hard at the top of 3rd into a turn im gonna say going about 70..the car dies out..at this point im like "alright...haltech wire probably fell out" so i roll into a statepark entrance and pop the hood...REEKS like oil...haltech wire is still plugged in....i check the oil and theres...absouletly nothing in there...i had just tooped it off like i do everyday cause my car burns oil..what else is new...ok well i put like 3 quarts of oil in it and i tryed to start it...and its QUITE as hell and it used to be so so so so loud...(3 inch turbo back, no cat, no resinator, no nothin to an n1 muffler)...now from what i hear if i blew an apex seal it would be misfiring and loud and shooting flames and such...anyone have any ideas? currently the car is sitting in my garage back in long island while im hear in IL till december 22nd, when i get home im going to compression test it...oh yeah and i found a little oil leak coming from some where behind the oilpan...any imput would be great..thanks. oh yeah the car would violently shake when i tryed to start it...and it took like 10 seconds to start...(not normal with my car)

If you were that low on oil then it probably had a big leak. The motor probably seized. How much boost were you running when it happened?

We call that the Home Depot paint mixer or Death Shake.

Man that sucks!! Its really weird that you sprung an oil leak like that though. Any idea where exactly it is coming from?

BTW - When it shakes like that I think your beyond the ATF trick.

Sorry to hear that man.

It couldn't hurt to try it, but if you ran it for a while with no oil you're looking at alot of problems. Does your oil level sensor work?

All your buzzers are disabled?? I made sure my oil and coolent level sensors still functioned when I installed my Motec.

I would put that on a to do list when and if you decide on a rebuild. When I was in driving school I used more oil than anticipated and that oil buzzer saved my ***. It was only going off in turns but I noticed it was going off in less severe turns than normal prompting me to check my oil when I normally would not have. It only needed about 3/4 of a quart but it could have been worse w/o the level sensor.

Definatly hook that stuff back up.

Sounds like all the symptoms of a blown motor, only a compression test will tell.

And yes please shorten your sig.
