Well, I got to my buddies house and we were just chilling.. I had put my car in his driveway.. A few minutes later a spot became available right in front of his house, so I go to move my car.. I put it in reverse and back up a bit then go forward and straighten out, then I put in in reverse again to pull into the spot.. Then I just needed to put it in first again but the shifter would not budge.. I pushed a bit harder and the linkage moved out of reverse but the car is still in gear.. Now the lever is stuck in fifth position but the tranny is in Fourth.... The clutch works cuz it will move in reverse..

What the hell could it be? Should I bother even trying to fix it or just get another tranny.. or put in my T2 tranny..

I have the T2 tranny that is going in the Repu.. I have a new clutch for that one too..

But I would like to not have to swap out the tranny and avoid all that work... So anyone got any ideas what the problem may be..?

I would drop the tranny and take off the tail shaft... Take a look at the linkage
