vould be your intake filter sock, when you hit the brakes enertia causes the the fuel to slosh forward and it can't suck it up. but this usually causes the motor to stop running till it can suck it up again.

that or your electricl sytem sucks ***

my stereo was shutting off everytime i hit the brakes, and then i would turn it off and it would do NOTHING when i tried to start it back up, then after a while itd fire right up, not sure if playing with the grounds like i did helped or not. it did it a second time, and i found out my positive cable on the battery was very corroded and dirty, it hasnt done it since. BUT between the first and 2nd time, was about a month. its been abouta month since i cleaned the battery cables...so its hard to say. but that gives u something to try, clean those bad boys up and see if that helps.

This follows what cdaleracer669 said.

Much of the electrical stuff is interrelated.

A weak ground or power connection in one place can make bizarre things happen in other places.

A poor ground is the first thing I look for when anything electrical screws around. 8 out of 10 times that has been the problem.

The RX7 has 3 or 4 grounding points, not just the 1 on the battery.
