I belive that is your redline alarm. Mine went crazy too. The buzzer is located behind the gage cluster, and is soldered on to the circuit board. I just clipped mine off the circuit boardvery carefully.

I know its not my red-line buzzer cos its a beep not a buzz....but thanks for that cos the redline buzzer is an annoying little device too :) the beep is coming from the driverside footwell....from the computer i think. sometimes it changes to a pattern...beep,beep,beep,beep.........beep,beep,be ep,beep....... etc. the only cure i have found so far is to jus turn up the radio. :)

I believe those beeps are from the computer running its checks...I'm almost positive that it has nothing to do w/ the cars mileage. I don't remember what patterns mean what, but it should still not go off all the time, its only supposed to be when the car is FIRST started, then after its checks, its SUPPOSED to stop. Let me go look something up when I get off work, and I'll let you know! And BTW...your door is close right??? JK :)

Question

So did you guys ever find anything? It sounds like my beeper is just doing the same thing. After the car is on for about 10mins it starts with a beep-beep-beep then waits a minute or so before the next one. We've had the car since 89 and this is new. BTW this first appeared when we were working on the wiper switch. (could be coincidence). When car ran without wiper switch this happened.

Clocked at 141 when it outran radar.

(Buy me a beer sometime and I'll tell the whole story!)

i have the same thing on my 86 gxl does it goes about five beeps then a pause then a beep again its a beep not a buzzing sound right? if it is the sound is coming under the steering wheel by the tilt wheel lever i believe its the power steering buzzer(although its makes a beep) try checking your power steering fluid if you keep on running low then check your rack and pinion for any leaks most likely from the hoses and the tie rod dust booth if theres any leak in any side of the tie rod dust booth your your seal is probably broken and you might have to replace your rack setup unless you have the special tools to replace the seal. hope this helps

Mine did the same thing, ended up being a bad low coolant sensor in the top of the radiator. I had just yanked the buzzer out when we finally figured it out.
