Talking

I have an '86 GXL Auto. This car was bought from a Tow Yard and I have been fixing it. Recently it has started beeping after it runs/drives for a few minutes. The beeping is approx. 1 beep every second. None of the dash lights seem accociated with it (they all do work). My seatbelt doesn't affect it or anything else that I can figure out.

Also, sometimes it takes longer until the beeping starts.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem, it just went away after a long time. Other ppl here have had it, forgot what they did though. And yes its not the rev limiter buzzer

in the drivers side foot well is a long plastic box that has a speaker in it. i'm assuming one of the cold solder points broke. if you want you can unplug it and see if it stops beeping

Where in the driver's side footwell?

I've tried to pinpoint where the noise is comming from and it mystifies me.

(My friend can't pinpoint it either)

Its not for the 'add coolant' buzzer/bell. The light for that has been working while i've been fixing the car.

If I don't figure out what's going on soon I guess I'll try disconnecting the beeper on the left side.

A beeping sound could mean there's something wrong with the power steering.
