So I finally got around to putting my motor together, I'm still short 2 tension bolts that are in-transit right now... There are a bunch of pics from rotor assembly to essentially a finished short block:

Were the corner seal springs visible in any of the pics? I think I may have forgotten to take a pic of those. Clearancing those side seals is a pain in the ass, I eventually ended up using 220 grit til they fit and 600 grit for the finish, seemed to work ok but damn my fingers got torn up.

you can see the bag in the back, nf01-11-c24

i use a dremel to do the side seals, its round and it does most of the work for you

After watching the RE-amiya video vosko has and seeing that guy go through side seals on the small bench grinder... I decided against using a power tool for that step https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png Next time I'll buy some extra side seals so I can try the dremel...

j9fd3s 10-30-2002 05:08 PM

the dremel works great, with a not new stone it works pretty slow.

i put the dremel in a vice, and i had something to keep the seal square

just an update, some new pics:

long block assembly pics

everything but the water pump / housing and oil pan etc have been put on as of now, you can also see the added material on the S4 LIM to block the intermediate housing heat riser port... I should be finishing up this weekend hopefully.

Those water nipples on the rear housing and water pump housing have been pulled, holes tapped, and plugged... since I removed the thermowax and the coolant from the BACV.
