anybody ever weld a stud on rotor housing ?

anybody ever weld a stud on rotor housing ?

like if a stud pulled the threads out

i wanna tig weld it and redrill and tap again

anyone ever done it?

(while motor is still together

No but what I have seen done is (if you are talking about an exhaust stud) the hole was enlarged, filled with weld, drilled and tapped to accept a new stud. Then he made sure all surfaces were flat and reinstalled the header. Of course the engine was apart for this.

Use a thread insert kit. Thats what I've had sucess with in the past.

Was the rotor housing overheated?
