this hot start problem is such a pain i have the n332 turbo ecu...there be some one out there who has figured this out...my rebuild has got 1100 miles on it compression is perfect ...i dont want to jimmy rig something up ...there must be a way to fix this problem i have brand knew stock injectors

As far as I know, there isnt a "hot start flooding problem" thats terribly common with these cars. You sure its not an ignition issue?

heres the rules



1. you cannot have ANY vacuum leaks. engine/ecu is PICKY.



2. you MUST have ALL of the vacuum lines hooked up CORRECTLY. the nipples on the intakes do different things, they need to be hooked up right. i usually end up blowing thru em, to make sure they go where its supposed too, cause the picture is not clear enough. its very very common to have the fuel pressure regulator on the wrong nipple, it needs to see vacuum AND boost.



3. TPS needs to be close, coolant temp sensor needs to be hooked up and working (ecu only looks at coolant temp and rpm when you're cranking)

Install a fuel kill switch and flooding will be a thing of the past.

ive got the swich ..brand knew injectors...checkrd water thermo...bac transistor....i just want to know what went wrong ...it seems the rx8 have the same problem

it seems like by design the rotary is more prone to doing this than anything except a hyundai. the FC's were famous for flooding even from new.



vacuum leaks are a big part, compression too

I have never had a problem, a random no start I can count on maybe one hand, but a common no hot start has never happened to me.

I think if all else is in order, the new seals arent fully bedded in yet. It can take a while sometimes.

then the only true solution is to get another car that isn't a rotary to fix the starting problems.
