****, I can't remember who it was on here, but I even PM'd him about it.. He had a GM alternator, and just modified the harness a bit to make it plug in. It bolted right up..

Rob x-7 said you installed a GM powermaster alternator on your 7.. How easy/hard was it to install, did it bolt right up or did you have to make brackets and stuff.. what model did you get.. Thanx alot.. I plan on running alot of extra electrical junk on my REPU so this high amp alt would be helpful..

13bace's reply:

It pretty much bolts right in, but you have to figure out the wiring. I don't remember how I did it, and the alternatore is sitting in my garage somewhere.

Dammit When my car gets to like 120 db my car starts to bog out and if I crank it all the way up it kills the car. I need this info so i can get a GM 160 amp alternator.

Will the dual alt pully I have work on the GM alt?

Also anyone have a part number, or an example of what car these come out of?

Find your local alternator/starter repair shop, they have pigtails lying around, they could easily put a Mazda pigtail on any other alternator, making the electrical part a plug and play deal.

A popular upgrade for the Toyota trucks is the MR2 100amp alternator, it is a drop in affair. If found lots of similar mounting designs and even exact same components between my Seven and my truck, so it might be another option to look at (what is the stock Seven alternator rated at???)
