thanks guys, you have been a big help. Im fairly new to rotaries, i got my first FC back in february, it was an SCCA ITS racecar. ive learned a lot just working on that. Now ive also got an 88 GXL thats gonna be my daily driver in the spring. im just looking to learn some ways to add performance without losing drivability. money is an issue though right now soo in the meantime i wanna learn as muh as i can so i can apply it when the time comes.

IMO, with a non-turbo car, a good course of action for upgrading is lots suspension and exhaust. Other than that, you could do a lightweight flywheel, but anything beyond that you're looking at an engine rebuild (for porting) and/or an ECU upgrade.

Messing with intake or pulleys or weight reduction or fuel isn't going to net any worthwhile gains on the otherwise-stock system, but it will heavily affect driveability/comfort.

If you get a corksport header you get 14 proven hp increase on a stock motor and have no cat i say you get about 16-20 hp based on mods and other factors
