Ok so I want to cool down the air my intake takes in and I want to make an air box for it. What would be a good matierial that doesnt absorb alot of heat to make it out of?

Please do a search for "CAI" or "Cold Air Induction" or something like that. There are a lot of designs out there, even a template. Aluminum will work fine because it does not hold heat well, so if it is thin gauge it will keep out the hot air nicely.

Just curious by why would you bother to make a new box and not go with cold air? The plastic box already does not absorb much heat but even if you had it gold plated on the ouside and insulated like a thermos it won't hlpe that much without fresh air.

the reason is because I think I have vapor lock or some sort and I wanted to suck colder air in when I start my car , do you think this would not help?

I don't understand what you want to do here.

You may be misinformed as to what vapor lock is. Vapor lock is when fuel boils in the gas line. A resulting bubble then blocks the fuel from moving forward. You could fill your airbox with ice, and it wouldn't fix the air bubble problem. If you do know what vapor lock is, what makes you think the fuel line, which runs down the opposite side of the car from the cat, is getting hot enough to boil fuel? If know all about vapor lock and you're sure you've got it, the fix for vapor lock is cooling the fuel lines, not cooling the incoming air.

use aluminum sheets, cheap, easy to work with.
