what about the retainer nut and cotter key
That only needs to be removed if he removes the entire hub.

Wow, then I'm a dumbass. How do I get the dust cap off?
Just use a flathead screwdriver and pry it off.

Grr, this thing has just about got me beaten. I doused it in WD-40 all night and this morning, then heated it with a torch and beat the living hell out of it with a hammer - no dice.

Then I got a big-*** chain, stuck a couple screwdrivers in the rotor with the chain connecting them, then tried to jack the rotor off (by jacking against the hub and the chain). Again, no dice, and I managed to put a 45 degree bend in a thick-*** screwdriver to boot.

Then I decided that I was going to have to take the whole hub off to figure out how to get that rotor off, and I can't get the dust cap off - nor would I know what to do after that even if I did. What all is involved in removing the hub? Somehow I can't seem to find instructions for that in my Haynes manual.

I'm getting to the point where I'm gonna have to have this ****** towed off and fixed by Superman or somebody.

Wooo! Disregard previous post, I got that bad boy offa there! I had to pull the whole hub, which was actually pretty easy (by comparison), and then just a few broken tools later I managed to get it out of the rotor.

People like me shouldn't work on cars. :P Thanks for the suggestions, guys! Now I'm off to get some grease to put the hub back on with, and I'm off to do it all over again on the other side.
